The 2010 Power of Green Conference promises to be the one-event no business leader should miss.
Join Loblaw executive chairman Galen Weston for his story of how sustainable business practices are a profitable part of his company's dominance of the Canadian grocery industry. Hear how author and entrepreneur Andrew Heintzman is capitalizing on the venture capital that is financing future clean technologies and business practices. Meet face-to-face with policy experts and top-level public planners to learn why Nova Scotia is the place to do business.
This year, the focus is on building business relationships through networking opportunities. Conference delegates will choose from six exciting small breakout sessions. Each session has an industry-specific theme that will promote practical discussions and the free flow of ideas from those who are experiencing and learning firsthand that green is the way to go.
This year’s sessions are:
- Catch the Latest on Sustainable Fisheries
- Empowering Your Growth Plans: Renewable Energy
- Financing for Clean Technologies and Green Business Models
- Increase competitive advantage with sustainable supply chain management
- The New Entrepreneurs: Launching Green from the Get-Go
- Cutting-Edge Green Buildings: Site Visits

In 2009, nearly 400 delegates made the Power of Green conference an overwhelming success. In a post-event survey, 91 per cent of respondents said the event met or exceeded their expectations and about 80 per cent said they were encouraged to implement sustainable practices in their organizations, communities and homes.
Power of Green will continue to focus on the "Business Case for Sustainability." Implementing sustainable practices is not only socially responsible, it can lead to cost savings, greater innovation and productivity, new market opportunities, employee engagement and enhanced competitiveness.
