Founder, Editor and President - Corporate Knights
Toby Heaps is the president, editor and co-founder of Corporate Knights, an independent Canadian-based social enterprise focused on prompting and reinforcing sustainable development in Canada and abroad.
Launched in 2002, Corporate Knights magazine is the world’s largest circulation magazine dedicated to the subject of responsible business. It is distributed quarterly as an insert to 100,000 subscribers of The Globe and Mail.
In 2008, Toby served as Press Secretary to Ralph Nader.
In 2005, Toby spearheaded the first global ranking of the world’s 100 most sustainable corporations, which is now an annual staple of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. The Global 100 has been published by Newsweek, BusinessWeek and Forbes.
Toby has a Bachelor of Arts degree from McGill University in Economics, with a minor in International Development. From 1997-98, he spent one year in the Belgrade Field Program (LLB in Management Studies) with the London School of Economics and Political Science. Toby has been published in the Globe and Mail, Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, Toronto Star and makes regular appearances on the CBC. He has played a significant leadership role in various initiatives related to climate change, focused on awareness, education and collaboration. |
